Why Is KCR Still Silent On Money Crisis?

It has been more than two weeks since the demonetisation was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi causing immense hardship to the common people.

Yet, there was not a single official statement from Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, though almost all the chief ministers in the country had reacted in one way or the other.

Though there have been official press releases from the TRS government over the problems faced by the people, the revenue loss caused to the state and the requirement of the government to overcome the crisis on account of demonetisation, KCR has not addressed any press conference nor did he make any official statement.

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President N Uttam Kumar Reddy expressed surprise over what KCR was up to.

“On one hand, the Chief Minister’s Office is issuing press releases saying the state was suffering huge losses due to sudden demonitisation. On the other, he is not speaking on behalf of people who are facing severe hardship and inconvenience due to Centre's insane move,” he pointed out.

He alleged that KCR was apparently trying to take political advantage by supporting the Centre at this juncture. However, he is not realising the negative impact of his decision on the people of Telangana State, he said.
