Why Don't You Help Farmers, Chiru?

Why Don't You Help Farmers, Chiru?

Boss is back with bang. It has been proved with re-entry of Chiranjeevi into the Telugu films with the block buster hit Khaidi No. 150. It has also proved once again as to why he is called megastar.

So far so good. At the same time, Chiranjeevi is also in politics and is now a Congress MP. He has not announced that he has quit politics. It does mean, he wants to continue his political career.

His latest film also has a political message as to how the parties in power are ignoring farmers who provide food for the entire country, while rolling out red carpet for big corporate houses. His dialogues in the film exposing the hollowness of the government in implementing the loan-waiver scheme have also had a lot of impact on the audiences.

So, it is nothing but natural for the people to think that Chiranjeevi has a lot of concern for farmers. But the reality is different.

Look at the close circle of the megastar and all are from corporate groups – from real estate to airways to corporate hospital chain to educational institutions to film production.

And there are no evidences of either Chiranjeevi or his family members doing any great service to farming community. None of them took up any fight against forcible land acquisition for capital and industries, as Chiranjeevi does in Khaidi No. 150.

“Why can’t you translate your message in the film into real life action? Why don’t you take up the farmers’ cause? Why don’t you extend financial assistance to the families of farmers who had committed suicide from the profits you earn from this film? At least, why don’t you provide free education to the children of such families? You can do it, if you want to,” says an article posted on a portal, while reviewing the film.

Right message, right?
