Why did KCR underrate his son KTR?

Why did KCR underrate his son KTR?

The internal survey conducted by Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has not surprised many, as everybody knows there would not be a different outcome for the survey commissioned by KCR himself.

Nobody would have been shocked even if the survey indicated that the TRS would win all the 119 seats in the assembly in the next elections.

But what has surprised many is the rating given to KCR’s own son and IT minister K T Rama Rao.

According to the survey, KTR was fast losing the support of the people, as the fall in popularity graph indicated from the previous survey to the latest survey.

In the survey conducted last time, KTR got the support of 70.6 per cent and now, it has fallen to 60.4 per cent.

In fact, KCR’s survey included KTR in the list of non-performing ministers like Ajmeera Chandulal, G Jagadeesh Reddy, Jogu Ramanna, Talasani Srinivasa Yadav, Indrakaran Reddy, Lakshma Reddy, Jupalli Krishna Rao and P Mahender Reddy, whose popularity graph also has been on the decline.

In contrast, KCR rated his nephew T Harish Rao very high and ranked him No. 2 in the cabinet, next only to the chief minister.

This is definitely a humiliation for KTR, though he is among the few most active ministers in the KCR cabinet. Wherever there is a problem, KTR responds quickly and reaches there on the spot.

People still remember how KTR personally swung into action when there were heavy floods in Hyderabad; and how he has been taking steps to revive the textile industry in Siricilla.

May be, KCR wants to nip KTR in the bud, if the latter had any plans to usurp the CM post. Or it can also be a publicity gimmick to tell the world that he does not encourage nepotism in the cabinet and does not spare even his son if he doesn’t perform well.

In any case, it is a big blow to KTR!
