Adding to the confusion over the special status issue, BJP President Amit Shah declared that there was no question of going back on the promise of special status to Andhra Pradesh.
Shah said that he had recently met Chandrababu Naidu in the presence of Venkayya Naidu and assured him the same. Shah said that a decision will be taken soon.
With the BJP Party President himself declaring that the issue has not been put on the backburner, hopes are afoot once again among the people of Andhra Pradesh.
The Union Finance Minister Jaitley indirectly hinted that no such privilege can be accorded to Andhra Pradesh as there were technical difficulties and the 14th Finance Commission makes it virtually impossible to favor Andhra Pradesh.
Now Shah says something else. Who among the BJP can be taken at their word?
