'What's The Hurry', Questions Vundavalli

After the setback faced by Kiran Kumar Reddy's 'Jai Samaikhyandhra Party', Undavalli Arun Kumar had been keeping a low profile. Though he had not contested in the polls, he was a prominent advisor to Kiran. But of late, Undavalli is coming back into media attention again.

A politician with excellent communication skills, people still remember how he sent shivers down the spine of Ramoji Rao in the 'Margadarsi issue'. And when Undavalli talks, people listen!

Unfortunately for Chandrababu Naidu, Vundavalli is now focusing on the new capital region. Having returned from a visit to the villages that will be affected by the new capital, the former MP accused the government of forcing the farmers to give up their lands.

“They are being pressurized and told that their lands will not fetch good prices in future and that banks will not give them loans either if they refuse to agree to land pooling,” said Vundavalli.

He further added, “When Hyderabad is the common capital for ten years what is the hurry to construct a new capital overnight by troubling the farmers and that too when the State is facing a deficit? The population of AP is 4.96 crore and Naidu is making plans for a capital that will house 5 crore people. How absurd is this?”
