What Was Real Reason For Sacking IYR?

The unceremonious removal of former Andhra Pradesh chief secretary from the post of AP Brahmin Welfare Corporation chairman by chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has triggered a major uproar in political and Brahmin community circles.

While the immediate reason being shown for his sacking is believed to be his anti-government postings on the Facebook, besides sharing of anti-Naidu and anti-TDP postings of others, the real reason is said to be something else.

According to sources, IYR had strongly resisted the move of some influential TDP leaders including a couple of MLAs to encroach upon a prime property of Brahmin agraharam in the heart of Vijayawada city, taking advantage of the dispute between the local Brahmin associations and some private parties.

Though IYR tried to bring their attempts to occupy the lands to the notice of the chief minister, he could not get the appointment.

On the other hand, the TDP leaders reportedly complained to TDP general secretary and IT minister Nara Lokesh against the “monarchical” attitude of Krishna Rao.

Lokesh asked them to wait for an opportune time, since the occupation of land cannot be done unless it gets the support of Krishna Rao.

And, when a frustrated Krishna Rao posted the comments on some policy decisions like tax exemption given to Balakrishna’s film Gautamiputra Satakarni and other controversial postings on Facebook, Lokesh did not lose much time in complaining to Naidu.

That finally culminated in the sacking of Krishna Rao.
