The Housing and Urban Development Corporation (Hudco) will sign a memorandum of understanding with the AP government for extending a loan of Rs 7,500 crore in support of infrastructure development for the new capital of Amaravati, said Union urban development, housing and urban poverty alleviation minister M Venkayya Naidu. This is really unacceptable.
Providing financial assistance for the new capital to AP is the duty of the central government and it has also been included in the AP Re-Organization Act.
Instead of providing packages to AP, the Centre is pulling the state further into debt. Who will repay the Rs 7500 crore? The people of AP, not Chandrababu Naidu!
This is like rubbing salt into the wounds of AP. Instead of rightfully giving the state, the money as a grant, they are extending it as a loan.
Can there be a bigger hypocrisy? But what else can one expect from the likes of Venkayya Naidu.
