What does defection of TDP leader into Oppn show?

It is quite common that the leaders from the opposition parties shift their loyalties to the ruling party, since power always lures people.

In the last three years, as many as 21 MLAs defected from YSR Congress party into the ruling Telugu Desam Party in Andhra Pradesh.

Under such circumstances, the defection of TDP leader Shilpa Mohan Reddy into YSR Congress party came as a big surprise.

What does it indicate? It clearly indicates leaders like Shilpa are losing confidence in the ruling party and that the chances of YSRC coming to power are bright.

“The defection of a leader from a ruling party to an Opposition party proves that TDP has not achieved anything substantial towards development and that it has lost the confidence of the leaders and cadre,” said firebrand YSRC legislator R K Roja.

She alleged that the TDP president and his son Lokesh were involved in scams and were getting exposed every day.

Demanding a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry on the scam, Roja said that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) that has been directed to probe the land scam cannot be trusted and added that only the CBI will be able to bring out the truth.
