We Are With NDA, Reiterates YSRC

YSR Congress party on Monday reiterated its support to the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance and asserted that it would treat the Congress party as its political adversary.

Party spokesman Bhumana Karunakar Reddy said there was no question of going back on extending support to the NDA in the Presidential elections and the Congress party has no moral right to either criticize or dictate terms to the YSRC.

“We treat both the Telugu Desam Party and the Congress party as our equal political adversaries,” he said.

Describing the Congress party as an Egypt mummy, Bhumana said the Congress party had no moral right to seek the support of the YSRC, as it was the Congress party leadership which had created a situation for our leader Y S Jaganmohan Reddy to quit the party and face hardships.

“The Congress party, in collusion with the TDP, had foisted false cases and implicated our leader and he was jailed unethically. How can we support its candidate?” he asked.

On the Congress party’s allegation that YSRC had no right to use the name and picture of late Y S Rajasekhar Reddy, Bhumana said it was, in fact, the other way.

The Congress party had forgot the services of YSR, who had revived the state Congress which was wobbling in internal strife, and paved way for the great victories in 2004 and 2009 elections giving UPA the biggest contingent from Andhra Pradesh.

“Instead, it sought to harass YSR’s son,” he said.

“When our Party was seeking a united Andhra Pradesh, the Congress has suspended our members, closed the doors, shut down the telecast and passed the Telangana Bill. Both Congress and TDP joined hands on the issue and we treat both as adversaries and political rivals,” he said.
