“Amaravathi is my country, Kuppam is my constituency and only my party people are my brothers and sisters.” This could very well be the personal pledge of AP CM Chandrababu Naidu.
The man seems to be completely oblivious to the practical realities and is moving ahead with his own personal agenda.
After the bifurcation, people of Rayalaseema hoped that their region would get greater emphasis at least now. But the CM is behaving like Kuppam is the only place in Rayalaseema worth bothering about.
Already, he has sanctioned projects running into thousands of crores for the constituency. And now, he has given instructions for a underground drainage system (USD), storm water drainage (SWD) and a summer storage tank for Kuppam. So, what is wrong in that?
Is it not good for the region? Yes, but what is wrong is completely neglecting the other regions in the area.
Kuppam does not have a population of more than 30000 and is not even a municipality; therefore it might be a record for the town to be accorded an underground drainage system.
Ironically, district headquarters Chittoor does not even have a proper drainage system leave alone a USD. So, will this kind of preferential treatment not create further resentment?
When will the CM wake up from his slumber and stop this narrow-minded way of administering the state?
