TRS on alert over Amit Shah, Rahul visits!

Telangana Rashtra Samithi has gone on a high alert following the reports that Bharatiya Janata Party national president Amit Shah and Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi would be visiting Telangana within a span of one week.

Shah would be visiting Telangana from May 22 to 24. During his visit, he would tour various parts of the state including Nalgonda, Miryalguda, Bhongir and Hyderabad and interact with the party workers at all levels.

The party hopes that Shah’s visit would rejuvenate the party cadre and gear them up to face the next elections on their own.

At the same time, Rahul would be visiting Telangana on June 1 and 2, coinciding with the third anniversary of Telangana formation.

He is expected to address a massive public meeting at Sangareddy on June 1 and the following day, he would have a meeting of the students of Osmania University at Hyderabad. The Congress party hopes that it would get the required fillip following Rahul’s visit.

The TRS leaders are a bit worried over their visits but are putting up a brave front. TRS minister T Srinivasa Yadav said the proposed visits of Shah and Rahul will not have any adverse impact on the TRS.

He said the BJP and the Congress were vying for making false allegations against the Government, which was giving top priority to the welfare and development.

Despite their tactics for political mileage, the people will not support the Opposition parties, he said.

Yet, TRS leadership has asked all its district units to be on alert and organise a series of meetings to highlight the government’s achievements.

“We can attract the people back to us by announcing a series of sops on the occasion of Telangana formation day on June 2,” a party leader said.
