TRS Minister Emulates Naidu!

When Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu was the Chief Minister of United Andhra Pradesh between 1995 and 2004, he used to give shocks to the officials with his surprise visits.

He never used to give any information even to CMO officials before suddenly deciding to visit a government office or school or hospital.

He, however, used to ensure that there was enough media coverage to his surprise visit, though media persons too were not aware of the places he was visiting.

Now, the TRS ministers seem to have taken a cue from Naidu. On Saturday, an hour after taking charge, Deputy Chief Minister Dr T Rajaiah  made a surprise visit to Gandhi Hospital to check the conditions.

Rajaiah interacted with the patients, staff and doctors of Gandhi Hospital enquired about the facilities. While the patients complained of lack of doctors, medicines and other facilities, the management complained of shortage of staff to maintain the hospital. He assured the patients that the TRS Government would take immediate measures to improve the facilities.

Rajaiah also informed that he would convene a meeting with the elected representatives of twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad after the Assembly session to discuss the measures to be taken for improving the conditions of Gandhi and Osmania General Hospitals.

He said both the hospitals serve as backbone of public health in Telangana and the government would take all steps to bring them on par with corporate hospitals.

He alleged that the previous regimes ignored both the hospitals to indirectly promote private hospitals. However, he said that the TRS Government would ensure that poor gets all medical facilities in both Gandhi Hospital and OGH.
