Hyderabad: Six MLA's from the TDP have already joined the TRS. They are Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Dharma Reddy, Sayanna, Teegala Krishna Reddy, Madhavaram Krishna Rao and Manchireddy Kishen Reddy.
Now, Qutubullapur TDP MLA, Vivekananda Reddy has also joined the TRS taking the tally to seven.
Rajendra Nagar MLA Prakash Goud and Serilingampally MLA Gandhi are also likely to join the TRS. If these two MLA’s also join the TRS, then the majority of TDP MLA’s would have joined the TRS.
There is a possibility then that these MLA’s can write a letter of resolution to the Assembly Speaker that the TDP is merging in the TRS.
A few months back in the Council, except TDP MLC Narsi Reddy, the remaining five TDP MLC’s had written a letter to the Council Chairman that they were joining the TRS and hence, it might be considered that the TDP had merged in the TRS. The same scenario might get repeated in the Assembly.
The benefit of such a move is that the members would then not have to seek re-election or face the anti-defection proceedings in court.
