Telangana home minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy’s press conferences are sending jitters to TRS party circles.
The reason Nayani has caused embarrassment to party leadership on more than one occasions due to faux pas in PCs.
The other day he referred to KCR’s pet programme “Mission Kakatiya” as “commission Kakatiya”, which remains the main slogan of Opposition parties to highlight the corruption in awarding contracts to restore tanks under Mission Kakatiya.
Of late, Nayani’s faux pas again has put TRS government in a fix.
When media asked him about when the by-election for Sanathnagar Assembly seats would be held, Nayani shot back, “Where is the need to hold by-poll for Sanathnagar? Has minister and sitting MLA Talasani Srinivas Yadav resigned for Sanathnagar seat?"
His answer shocked not only media reporters but also Deputy CM Mohd Mahmood Ali and Power minister G.Jagadish Reddy, who sat on the dias along with him.
They were forced to issue a clarification immediately saying that the resignation of Talasani is under the examination of Speaker Madhusudhana Chary and concluded the PC abruptly.
All were surprised at the ignorance of Nayani over such an important and controversial issue of Talasani, who is continuing as minister in KCR’s cabinet despite being a TDP MLA by claiming everyday that he had submitted resignation.
