TJAC Has No Political Plans

Telangana Joint Action Committee chairman Prof M Kodandaram on Saturday made it clear that the TJAC is not a political party and it cannot become so.

Kodandaram told media that there was no question of winding up TJAC, which would continue to exist and play a key role in the reconstruction of Telangana state.

“People’s organizations by nature could not become political parties.  It is not my intention to belittle political parties. But the peoples’ organization would  act as a catalyst between the people and the political parties,” he said.

At the same time, Kodandaram said that it would be good if leaders of movements entered politics and the political parties should provide suitable place to the movement leaders.

Stating that they have not discussed the role to be played by the TJAC in the coming elections, he said that within two days, the JAC would formulate its future course of action.  From March 11, they would organize victory meetings, he added.
