The New Capital Gets Rs 30 Crores In Funds

After Andhra Pradesh CM Chandra Babu Naidu called on people to donate voluntarily for the development of new capital city, it is said that nearly Rs 30 crores have been collected.

Naturally, many Indian and non-resident Telugus have been contributing their share and the total amount has come to Rs 30 crores by now.

If one looks at it, getting Rs 30 crores in four months in no mean feat. But since the government has been saying that the new capital city would need Rs 1 lakh crores, the amount looks miniscule.

While a company donated Rs 2 crore, a lady gave away her jewellery for the city. The sudden and extensive loss due to cyclone Hud Hud is likely to impact donations it is being said. Also, many people are coming forward to give donations to those affected by the cyclone.

Now, Chandra Babu Naidu will personally write a thank you note to all people who contribute Rs 1 lakh or more and an SMS will be sent to others who contribute to the relief fund.

In fact, Chandra Babu Naidu has requested that people must not refrain from giving even a brick if that is what they can contribute.

Meanwhile, the officials feel taking the spirit in the wake of cyclone, many people might come forward to make donations for the capital city in future.
