TDP wants House panel probe into Metro Rail

Telangana Telugu Desam Party leader A Revanth Reddy on Monday demanded that a thorough debate on Hyderabad Metro Rail issue be held in the Assembly as there were irregularities involving hundreds of crores of rupees.

Revanth Reddy met Assembly Speaker Madhusudanachari and urged him to allow a debate on irregularities in the HMR project. “The TRS government has adopted vengeance attitude against me”, he alleged.

Revanth Reddy demanded setting up of a House Committee to look into allegations. In the proposed House Committee, the government can select any member and “I should also be nominated as its member”, he said.

There were reports that officially there was a loss of Rs 300 crore in metro land deal. But unofficial figures put it as Rs 1,000 crore, he said.

He alleged that this huge amount has gone to one Rameshwar Rao’s account.

“If Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is sincere, he should prove this in the Assembly,” he said and demanded setting up of a House committee to probe into the metro land imbroglio.
