TDP To Support KVP Bill On Special Status?

TDP To Support KVP Bill On Special Status?

At last, Telugu Desam Party has got an opportunity to prove that it is not compromising on the special category status to Andhra Pradesh.

According to sources, TDP president and AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has given green signal to the party MPs in Rajya Sabha to support the private member bill to be introduced by Congress MP K V P Ramachandra Rao seeking special category status to AP, when it comes up for discussion in the Upper House on May 13.

It may be mentioned that KVP had asked all the MPs, irrespective of their party affiliations, to support his bill since it is in the interest of the State.

If at all there is a voting, TDP members would get an opportunity to vote for the Congress bill. This may be a little embarrassing to Naidu since it amounts to questioning the NDA government, but he has nothing to lose because the bill would anyway have no impact on the government.

However, Naidu is learnt to have expressed displeasure over his party MPs for not taking the initiative in moving the private member bill, thereby conceding advantage to the Congress party.
