TDP Reciprocates YSRC Gesture

The Telugu Desam Party on Monday reciprocated the gesture of its arch rival YSR Congress party by deciding against contesting the bypoll for Allagadda Assembly seat.

The YSR Congress party recently not fielded any candidate in the Nandigama by-elections, as a result of which the TDP candidate won the seat hands down.

Now, the TDP has also decided not to field any candidate for the Allagadda bypoll, thereby clearing the decks for theunanimous election of late Shobha Nagi Reddy’s daughter Akhila Priya. The by-poll is scheduled to be held on November 8, in case polling becomes inevitable.

AP Deputy Chief Minister KE Krishna Murthy told media along with party MPs Sujana Chowdhury and CM Ramesh, that YSRCP leaders Dharmana Prasada Rao and MV Mysoora Reddy called on them and asked against fielding a candidate on TDP behalf. So the TDP had decided to refrain from fielding a candidate from Allagadda bypoll, he maintained.
