TDP has to play second fiddle to BJP in TS

TDP has to play second fiddle to BJP in TS

Bharatiya Janata Party will not allow the Telugu Desam Party to play a dominant role in the alliance in the Telangana State. If the TDP wants to ally with the BJP, it has to play a second fiddle to the latter in the new State.

This was reportedly made it clear by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah to met Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu here on Friday.

Shah had a breakfast meeting with the president of Telugu Desam Party (TDP). The two leaders understood to have discussed the current political situation and relations between the two parties.

Shah reportedly told Naidu that the BJP will be the only alternative to the TRS in the Telangana and the TDP has to cooperate with it.

In Andhra, however, the TDP will be the big brother and BJP will be its junior partner.  Since the TDP enjoys power in AP, it has to support the BJP to come to power in the Telangana in next elections, Shah reportedly told Naidu.

It may be mentioned that the TDP president had declared his intentions to bring his party to power in Telangana as well in the next elections. But, the BJP will not allow it to happen.
