TDP eyes Warangal LS seat

Telugu Desam Party is planning to make all out efforts to wrest the Warangal Lok Sabha seat from the Telangana Rashtra Samithi, apparently to retain its existence in the Telangana State.

The TDP has considerable presence in Warangal district and still has strong cadre base, even after the TRS sweep in the last elections.

And with the support of Bharatiya Janata Party, the party is trying to retain its hold by winning the Lok Sabha seat in the forthcoming by-elections by hook or crook.

As part of the strategy, the Telangana TDP is planning to organize a dharna in Warangal on August 5 to highlight the failures of the TRS government.

According to TDP legislator Errabelli Dayakar Reddy, the TRS has miserably failed to solve problems of the common people.

“Being an Opposition party, we tried to bring the problems and burning issues of the people to the notice of the government. But, when we raised our voice in the Assembly on people’s problems, our party members had to face suspension”, Errabelli said.

He alleged that instead of solving the problems, KCR was indulging in giving false information and deceiving the people by announcing a new scheme every day.

The people had high expectations on the new government, but the rulers have been working against the interests of the people, he alleged.

He also appealed to the people to support the dharna being organized by the TDP at Warangal.
