BJP’s Andhra Pradesh wing leader Khambampati Haribabu has made a rather interesting statement. He has categorically mentioned that BJP would extend its hand of friendship to parties that support Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government.
Already, TDP and BJP have an alliance in Andhra Pradesh. They also share power both at Centre and in the state. On the other hand, AP’s main opposition party YSRCP had announced that it would give issue-based support to BJP.
When Chandra Babu tabled a resolution supporting Narendra Modi fight against black money, Jagan had supported the move in state assembly.
Also, when the railway fare was hiked by 14.2%, YSRCP refrained from staging dharnas against such steep hike. Jagan merely made a symbolic statement and let the matter go by.
Given this background, Hari Babu appears to be hinting at being open to taking support from Jagan and his party. So, apart from TDP, YSRCP is also being counted among BJP’s friendly parties.
