Talasani, Teegala still in TDP!

Even as MLC elections are fast approaching on June 1, Telugu Desam Party began a legal battle against its three MLAs for switching loyalties to the ruling TRS.

The Telugu Desam leader E Dayakar Rao today moved the High Court and filed a house motion appealing for disqualification of its MLAs-- T Srinivas Yadav, Teegala Krishna Reddy  and Challa Dharma Reddy from exercising their franchise in the MLC elections.

In a related development, Telangana Legislature Assembly Secretary Raja Sadaram reportedly released a list of voters (MLAs) with their party affiliation citing Srinivas Yadav, Teegala and Dharma Reddy as the TDP MLAs, it is learnt.

The list comprises of all the seven candidates contesting for six MLC seats for which elections will be held on June 1 and followed by results on the same evening.

It may be noted here that the TDP repeatedly tried in vain urging the Speaker S Madhusudhan Chary to disqualify the MLAs for defecting to the ruling party. It is the discretion of the Speaker to take a decision or keep it in abeyance.

However, sources said the High Court is unlikely to intervene in the legislative affairs with regard to switching loyalties by the MLAs. The TDP had to move the apex court as a session court earlier rejected a similar petition filed.
