Telangana Congress Legislature Party on Thursday demanded that the State Government immediately convene a special three-day session of the State Legislature to discuss the ongoing agrarian crisis in the State.
Speaking to the media at the CLP office here, Leader of the Opposition K Jana Reddy said the KCR government should find immediate solutions to the issues like energy crisis, farmers’ suicides, crop losses and other related issues.
The government should convene a special session to give an assurance to the farmers that their woes would be addressed by the government.
Deficit rainfall followed by erratic power supply led to the failure of crops in almost all the districts in Telangana. The government must give an assurance to farmers that all their worries would be addressed.
Deputy CLP leader in the Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir said they had written two letters to the government seeking convening of Assembly session on the issues. However, it did not get any response so far as the government lacks clarity on the forthcoming budget session, he added.
