Former minister and present Telugu Desam Party MP from Anantapur J C Diwakar Reddy is known for his candid and straightforward talk. He does not mince words and calls a spade a spade when it comes to issues pertaining to the State.
In an interview to a television channel, JC made a statement that would definitely put TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu in an embarrassing situation.
He said the chances of Andhra Pradesh getting special status are bleak.
“I can say, it is 101 per cent impossible to get special status to AP. The NDA government does not bother even if the TDP comes out it in protest. They are entertaining the TDP only for name sake, as the BJP has full majority. Our position is like curry leaf in sambar,” he said.
He said he had spoken to Prime Minster Narendra Modi, Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and Venkaiah Naidu and all of them had clarified that there was no question of granting special status to AP.
“It is only that nobody wants to speak out openly,” he said.
