Silent Telangana Erupts Again!

Telangana region, which has been quietly watching the developments in New Delhi over the state bifurcation process, appears to have come back on the boil following the “leaks” from the Centre over the proposed creation of Rayala Telangana State.

Even as the seven-member Group of Ministers headed by Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde is grappling to strike a consensus for the formation of a Rayala-Telangana State, the Telangana groups have begun raising their voices of protest over the move.

While the Telangana Rashtra Samithi took up protest rallies across the region on Wednesday and gave a call for Telangana Bandh on Thursday, the Telangana JAC and other groups, too, are also preparing for agitations once again.

The Osmania University Campus, which has been a hot-bed of violent agitations since the T movement began, once again turned into a war zone on Wednesday with the students trying to take out a rally and the police moving in to thwart the move by erecting barricades at the entry points to the campus.

The police and the students virtually clashed with each other creating a tense situation.

And one can imagine the situation if the Central cabinet approves the Rayala Telangana proposal!
