'Shani' Sitting On Naidu's Head?

'Shani' Sitting On Naidu's Head?

It looks like stars have not been in favour of Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu, ever since he took over as Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister in June last.

Especially, “Sanigraha” (Saturn) seems to be moving continuously on his head as nothing is going on in his favour.

The Tuesday’s tragedy at Godavari Pushkarams in Rajahmundry is a testimony to this belief.

The incident, in which 27 people died and scores of other pilgrims injured in a stampede, happened almost right in front of Naidu’s eyes as people rushed in towards the ghat within seconds of the Chief Minister completed the pooja.

Naturally, everybody has started blaming Naidu for keeping lakhs of pilgrims waiting.

That all is not going on well for Naidu was also evident from the recent Cash-for-Vote scam, in which he and his party leaders were thoroughly exposed.

The slow progress in capital city formation, growing resentment among farmers due to non-implementation of crop loan waiver scheme, his inability to bring pressure on the Centre to get special status to AP and secure adequate funds to the State have all brought bad name to Naidu.

It remains to be seen when and how stars start favouring him.
