If the reports from Vijayawada are to be believed, senior Congress leader and former minister Devineni Rajasekhar alias Nehru is all set to join the Telugu Desam Party sooner or later.
Nehru has virtually been in political oblivion ever since the Congress was wiped out of Andhra Pradesh after bifurcation.
Though he wanted to go into the YSR Congress party, there is no place for him there because of the caste factor. So, he has no option but to look towards the ruling party to get back into political limelight. Moreover, Nehru was originally in the TDP, before shifting loyalties to the Congress.
Sources said Naidu had given green signal to Nehru and his team and it is only a matter of time that he will take a plunge into the TDP.
Interestingly, Kapu leader and former deputy speaker of the assembly Buragadda Vedavyas is also contemplating joining the TDP.
He was originally in the Congress, before shifting to Praja Rajyam. He later returned to the Congress, but lost the elections after the bifurcation. He, too, has been left with no option but to join the ruling party.
