Sangh Parivar waves red flag at CBN

The TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu's next political move to get closer to BJP has hit a hurdle with both the state unit of BJP and RSS waving a red flag for such an arrangement.

The RSS, the ideological mentor of the saffron party, is of the view that any electoral alliance with Naidu would prove detrimental for the growth of the party.

"Naidu is a discredited leader with no credibility among the people. Moreover, he has made so many flip-flops on key policy issues," the RSS leaders were said have opined.

The political track-record of the TDP and its chief has nothing to cheer about. It is full of U-turns and betrayals. He had sailed with the left parties in the 2009 elections and now he is getting ready for yet another U-turn by planning to join the NDA on the ground that there was a need to defeat the UPA and rid the country of Congress rule.

The state BJP president G Kishan Reddy has also made it clear that his party would contest all the seats in the coming Assembly elections and that there are no plans to have alliance with any party.

The main apprehension among the saffron circles is that Naidu could change his stance on Telangana issue as well. The BJP, on the other hand, is committed to the cause of separate Telangana state.

"We are not interested in any alliance with TDP. If required, I will go to New Delhi and discuss the issue with our central leaders", Kishan Reddy said.

Earlier, the BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi had extended a hand of friendship to the TDP in his mission to defeat the Congress. Chandrababu's disclaimers notwithstanding, there has been a lot of buzz that TDP may eventually embrace BJP ahead of the 2014 elections.
