Samaikyandhra JAC turns Rajadhani JAC!

Samaikyandhra Joint Action Committee (JAC), which had waged a relentless battle to keep the State united, has now become “Rayala Andhra Rajadhani (capital) Samithi”, to fight for making Kurnool as Capital of the residuary Andhra Pradesh State, post-bifurcation.

Former Minister T G Venkatesh, who struggled hard to keep the State united, or in the alternative, clubbing Kurnool and Ananthapur districts with Telangana, has extended full support to the newly-formed Samithi.

He said they would relentlessly fight till Kurnool is declared as capital of Andhra Pradesh. He said that Andhra State as it existed prior to 1956 should be kept as it is now.

Venkatesh said that water resources were aplenty in Kurnool and 25,000 acres of land is also available for building the Capital of the new State.

He said the Capital of 1956 should be restored now. He was unhappy with the committee appointed to decide on the capital of the new State and said it was working in a way to create differences among different regions.

He said that all political parties and peoples’ organizations should extend their support to the movement till Kurnool is made the Capital of Andhra Pradesh.
