Sakshi gets yet another chance to ridicule Naidu!

Sakshi media house, promoted by YSR Congress party chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, does not lose a single opportunity to take pot shots at Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

The channel and the daily of this media house keep a tab on what Naidu speaks and whenever he makes an erratic comment while speaking in public, they immediately catch his statements and attack him.

Last week, when Naidu told the party workers in Nandyal that he was also capable of purchasing votes at Rs 5000 for each vote, Sakshi created a big ruckus without going into the spirit of his statement.

On Wednesday, too, Naidu fumbled while felicitating badminton sensation Kidambi Srikanth in Vijayawada.

While offering government job, cash and a plot for Srikanth, the chief minister said he would hold a public honour for the sport persons from the state if they brought gold medals.

In this connection, he sought to recall his earlier statement he had made during Tirupati Indian Science Congress meet in which he had announced Rs 100 crore cash award and a public felicitation for Telugu scientists if they get Nobel Prize.

However, instead of recalling his entire assurance, Naidu just said: “the other day, I announced the same for Nobel Prize.” Since he could not complete the sentence, it created an impression that he had announced Nobel Prize for Olympic medallists.

This was picked up by Sakshi, which lost no time in heckling Naidu. It carried the video clip of Naidu statement repeatedly on the channel and also carried a front page banner story in the Sakshi daily.

Though Naidu should have been more cautious in making statements in public, Sakshi also should have understood the spirit behind the statement, instead of using it for pot shots.

YSRC might have political differences with the TDP, but being a media house, Sakhshi should have refrained from making silly stories out of the chief minister’s statements!
