Sadarvarthi lands: Why is Lokesh bothered?

Telugu Desam Party general secretary and Andhra Pradesh IT minister Nara Lokesh has drawn flak for his comments that the Income Tax authorities and Anti-Corruption Bureau sleuths would plunge into action the moment YSR Congress party MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy deposits Rs 27.44 crore in the court to take over 84 acres of Sadavarthi lands in Chennai.

“In what way is Lokesh concerned with the mobilization of funds for purchase of Sadavarthi lands? The high court has given the verdict that we can take over the lands after depositing Rs 5 crore more than the amount for which they were sold to the TDP leaders in auction.

We follow the court verdict and mobilise funds before the deadline. Who is he to talk about Income Tax or ACB raids?” Ramakrishna Reddy told media on Wednesday.

Describing Lokesh’s comments as uncalled for interference and uncharitable, Alla said it was better the TDP general secretary studied the copy of the judgement before airing his views.

“He is trying to spread a fear psychosis by time and again telling that the paying such a huge amount would attract the attention of Income Tax Department. This is ridiculous as we know how the amount should be paid within the stipulated time given by the court,” Reddy said.

“Once we get the court order we will mobilize the funds and pay Rs 27.44 crores as per the timeline given by the court and it is a matter of our concern. There are individuals, institutions and enterprises that can provide funds to buy the lands,” he said.
