Actress-turned-politician and YSR Congress party MLA from Nagari R K Roja is known for her over-action not only in films but also off screen.
In a big to impress her boss Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, she tries to put up an aggressive posture by making controversial comments, but more often than not, she gets into trouble.
On Wednesday, Roja made a big noise in the Assembly over removal of former Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy’s portrait from the lobbies.
She made a wild allegation against the Telugu Desam Party members were scared of facing YSR. “Your pants and dhotis will get wet, when you see YSR’s picture. That is why, your government has removed the great leader’s portrait,” she said.
During the debate on Rishiteshwari suicide also, Roja made controversial comments against the TDP members.
Taking potshots at Higher Education Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao for calling the victim’s parents to the hotel in Vijaywada, instead of going to their residence to call on them, Roja said: “The minister didn’t even have the time to visit their house. Instead, he went back to Hyderabad to participate in the audio-release function of Srimanthudu cinema.”
Ganta said he had been in touch with Rishiteshwari’s parents right from the day one and consoled them over phones.
“When I went to Nagarjuna University, I was told the parents were not in town and that was why I could not go to their place. So, I asked them to come to the hotel where I was staying. It is true that I attended the audio release function of Srimanthudu, where several YSR Congress party MLAs were also present. But I did not participate in entertainment programmes like “Jabardast” (a programme telecast in ETV, in which Roja is anchor) every day,” he said.
Roja had no option but to keep silent.
