Revanth To Join BJP, Not Congress?

Firebrand Telangana Telugu Desam Party legislator from Kodangal in Mahbubnagar district A Revanth Reddy is contemplating joining the Bharatiya Janata Party soon, if the speculations doing rounds in the media circles are to be believed.

It is learnt Revanth had a talk with the BJP national leadership recently and had given his nod to join the party.

He might take a plunge into the saffron party during the visit of BJP national president Amit Shah to Telangana in a couple of days.

Apparently, the BJP leadership thought Revanth’s entry would strengthen the party in Telangana.

The party is trying to emerge as a powerful alternative in Telangana and it badly needs leaders like Revanth who can take on the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi head-on.

In fact, there had been a talk that Revanth would join the Congress party and consolidate the Reddy vote bank. However, there are too many bosses in the Telangana Congress and if Revanth joins, he would be just one among them; as such, there would not be any identity for him.

But if he joins the BJP, he would get the due recognition and might even be projected as the chief ministerial candidate.

If Revanth quits the TDP, it would as well be end of the road for the yellow party in Telangana. Hardly any leader is left in the TDP in the region and so, it would have just nominal presence for the sake of national party status.
