Realty Still Down In Hyderabad

The real-estate in Hyderabad has always thrived on Seemandhra people. Hence, following the Telangana agitation, it was quite natural that the market witnessed a sharp decline.

Seemandhra people concerned about their future in Hyderabad stopped investing in Hyderabad and choose Andhra Pradesh.

A year after bifurcation, the Telangana government understandably has been making statements that the realty sector has bounced back, now that the future of Telangana as a separate State is assured.

The truth is somewhat different. The future of Telangana as a separate state may be assured but the confidence of the Seemandhra people has not been restored.

People are still wary of not the Telangana people but KCR and his contradictory statements against them on a daily basis.

The fiscal figures released for the first quarter of the financial year show that AP got Rs 789 crore whereas Telangana netted Rs 721 crore through land sale and registrations.

That a year after bifurcation, AP outperformed Telangana in the real-estate sector is a clear indication of the ground reality.

The business in Hyderabad has picked up slightly in real-estate but that is mainly on account of North Indians who work for the multi-nationals purchasing properties at good bargains.
