Ranga Statue Vandalism: Who Dunit?

Ranga Statue Vandalism: Who Dunit?

The vandalism of noted Kapu leader late Vangaveeti Mohan Ranga’s statue at Machilipatnam in the early hours of Sunday has triggered a controversy as to who could have done it.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu expressed anguish over the demolition of the Ranga statue and sent his deputy N Chinna Rajappa to Machilipatnam to pacify the agitated Kapu leaders and workers.

He declared that the statue would be rebuilt in a big way and installed at the same place within a short time.

The question remains as to who would have done it. The Telugu Desam Party leaders are alleging that it could be the handiwork of YSR Congress party leaders to malign the Naidu government, as they had failed to cash in on the Kapu agitation taken up by Mudragada Padmanabham.

Some of them went to the extent of blaming it on Mudragada himself, as he was frustrated with the series of steps Naidu has been taking for the benefit of Kapus.

However, there is another version doing rounds in political circles. It could have been done by the TDP workers themselves to throw blame on YSR Congress party and divert the attention of the people from crucial issues.

Anything is possible in politics, boss!
