The Telangana Congress leaders are on cloud nine after the success of the public meeting addressed by party’s national vice-president Rahul Gandhi at Sangareddy on Thursday; so much that they already started dreaming of coming to power in the state in the next elections.
Senior Congress leader and former Rajya Sabha member V Hanumanth Rao was so much jubilant that he gifted his golden bracelet to former MLA Turpu Jayaprakash Reddy alias Jagga Reddy on Friday.
It was Jagga Reddy, who took the initiative in organizing the public meeting at Sanga Reddy and ensured mobilization of over a lakh of people to the meeting.
VH told media that Rahul Gandhi was very much impressed with the Sangareddy show and was all praise for Jagga Reddy.
“He asked me to gift my bracelet to Jagga Reddy immediately. Since it was Rahul Gandhi’s order, I could not say no. However, I could not remove it on the stage. So, I gave it to him today,” VH said.
TPCC vice-president Shabbir Ali said despite spending crores of rupees by the MLAs and ministers, the recent public meeting of the TRS addressed by chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was a flop show.
“Our Sangareddy meeting should be an eye opener for him,” he said.
