Close on the heels of several leaders deserting the sinking ship of the Congress party looking for greener pastures, former minister N Raghuveera Reddy is also all set to quit the Congress party and join the YSR Congress party.
According to highly reliable sources, Raghuveera has come to an understanding with the YSR Congress party leadership and has been assured of Lok Sabha ticket from Hindupur Parliamentary constituency in Anantapur district under Backward Classes quota.
He will meet party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy in a day or two to clinch the deal, say sources.
Raghuveera, who belongs to powerful Yadava community, will be an asset for the party, which has also got further impetus with the joining of Congress MP Ananta Venkat Rami Reddy a couple of days ago.
