'Quit Party Before Defecting'

Congress Legislature Party Chief and former Minister K Jana Reddy on Wednesday took strong exception to party leaders switching loyalties to the Telangana Rashtra Samithi without even informing the party leadership in advance.

Apparently referring to the defection of a Congress MLA from Adilabad into the TRS, Jana Reddy said that the leaders could defect to the other parties can do so but only after resigning to the party and post they hold.

He asked the TRS or other parties not to encourage defections. The elected representatives should maintain decency and discipline, lest the people will throw them out of power during the elections, he said.

When asked, Jana Reddy feigned ignorance on the AICC deputy Chief Rahul Gandhi arriving in Hyderabad to attend a two-day Congress Meeting in August last week.

“I do not know exact dates but the program will focus on election debacle, strengthening of the party, strategy to win in 2019 elections, plan of action to fight for cause of problems of people and take on the government,” he explained.
