It looks like the Bharatiya Janata Party leadership has decided to pitch in former Union Minister Daggubati Purandeshwari to take on Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu who has been accusing the NDA government of showing step-motherly treatment towards Andhra Pradesh.
Apparently, the BJP top bosses have felt that the local BJP leaders are not able to counter the campaign launched by the TDP that the Centre was neglecting the newly-formed State.
Even Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu is not able to give a strong reply to Chandrababu because of the friendly relationship between the two. So, Purandeshwari, who does not have good family relations with Naidu, has turned out be a better choice for the party to take on her brother-in-law.
Addressing a meeting of the party workers at Guntur on Saturday, Purandeshwari called upon them to strongly rebut the criticism of Chandrababu Naidu and other TDP leaders that the Centre was not releasing adequate funds to the State.
She said the Centre had released huge funds to AP, which no other state had received so far.
“You have to take into people where all these funds have gone and how the TDP government is misusing the same. If the State government shows adequate proof of spending the Central funds released so far, the NDA government will release more funds,” she said.
She asked the workers to strive for bringing the BJP to power in Andhra Pradesh in 2019 elections.
