Differences are cropping up among top Telangana Congress leaders with every passing day ever since the party’s drubbing in the 2014 general elections.
It was evident from the way Telangana Congress Chief Ponnala Lakshmaiah was kept in dark about a meeting of the Telangana Congress leaders’ meeting called by Leader of Opposition K Jana Reddy in the first week of August.
It is likely to be held at Kompally on the outskirts of Secunderabad on August 4. With this, rumor was doing rounds that the Leader of the Opposition was trying to have an upper hand on the party affairs and called a meeting of MLAs, MPs and former MLAs and MLCs and other elected representatives.
Ponnala expressed dismay at the non-receipt of an invitation or a communiqué of holding the meeting by Jana Reddy. In an interaction with media on Tuesday, Ponnala said he did not know about the meeting.
“I am not aware of any such meeting”, he maintained. However, with total confidence, he said none in the party can take on him.
“Not any big leader in the Congress can take on my moral strength and goodwill”, he maintained.
