Phone Tapping: KCR Brought Disgrace To Telangana

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi government headed by K Chandrasekhar Rao, which had rejected the allegations of telephone tapping of its rivals, is now forced to go on the back foot, with the High Court directing the telecom operators to submit the call data records tapped by the KCR government in a sealed cover.

The government was forced to admit in the court that it had resorted to telephone tapping, but defended it saying it was done completely legally and for intelligence purposes, but not to trouble other parties. In any case, it brought disgrace to the ruling party.

Naturally, the Telugu Desam Party took advantage of the situation to attack KCR.

On Friday, the TDP leaders criticised KCR on the phone tapping issue and sought his resignation right away.

Telangana TDP leader Errabelli Dayakar Rao said, “Now, TRS government has to accept that they did phone tapping of our leader Chandrababu Naidu. This act is an insult to the people of Telangana, and KCR has no moral right to continue in the CM's chair. He should resign immediately.”

Andhra Pradesh TDP leader Gali Muddukrishnama Naidu said, “TRS government is caught red handed that they have tapped the phones of AP CM and other officials. This is completely unlawful. More facts will be revealed in the court and the truth will come out.”
