At a time when Etv and Gemini would feed the audience with routine entertainment programmes, Maa TV entered the market and started giving hardcore entertainment to the audiences by mixing films and entertainment.
Now, the news is that the team which started the channel is planning to launch yet another channel soon. Though the news hasn’t been confirmed by those involved, that’s the plan say those in the know.
Though the channel is now associated with Nimmagadda Prasad, Akkineni Nagarjuna and Allu Arvind, the original team comprised of Satyamurthy and Murali Krishnam Raju who hail from West Godavari district.
In fact, Murali Krishnam Raju was with the channel for many years, even after Akkineni Nagarjuna and Allu Arvind came into the picture. Later, Nimmagadda joined them and the stakes changed eventually. Finally, Nimmagadda Prasad, Nagarjuna and Arvind hold all stakes now.
So, to cut a long story short, it is being said that Murali Krishnam Raju, Satyamurthy and a few others are planning to launch a new channel soon.
It is being said that they intend to take over the RVS channel which is in trouble. Incidentally, RVS channel belongs to a businessman who owns educational institutions in Tirupati. Though he is a financially sound party, he could not ensure the channel’s success. However, he has been investing in the channel consistently.
So, Murali Krishnam Raju and team are now trying to work out the logistics of acquiring the channel. It will be a few days before we know if the news is true or if it’s just a rumour.
