NTR Was Villain, I Was Real Hero: Nadendla

Former chief minister and senior Congress leader Nadendla Bhaskar Rao virtually threw a bombshell on Mondaystating that there were several unpalatable things about Telugu Desam Party founder N T Rama Rao and if he disclosed the same, people would spit at the legendary actor.

“During August 1984 episode, everybody, including media, depicted me as a villain. But I was the real hero in uprooting the Congress party from power in 1983 elections whereas the villain was NTR.

He was so timid and scared of me, because he lacked the political skills. Everybody was alleging that I had stabbed NTR in the back, but the real backstabber was NTR who revolted against me, though I was the original founder of the TDP,” Nadendla said.

He said there was not a single virtue in NTR as far as he was aware.

“The only good quality about NTR was that he used to address everybody with respect, even if it was his own wife,” he said.

The veteran Congress leader said NTR’s son Balakrishna is making a film on his father only to give life to the TDP, which is fast losing the people’s support.

“Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is forcing Balakrishna to make a movie on NTR only to confine the latter to films while making his son Lokesh Naidu his heir apparent. He thinks people will be carried away by the film, which brings back the memory of NTR and his mythological roles of Rama and Krishna,” Nadendla said.
