Now, KCR Offers 3% Quota For Christians!

Promising to provide proportionate representation to Christians in legislatures, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Monday said that he will take steps with total commitment to offer them MLC posts besides considering to provide three per cent of reservation to Christians in the state.

KCR said that the government will sure do justice by offering MLC posts to be falling vacant next year.

He sought the team to suggest names of some leaders to become MLCs and raise their voice in Council.

A team led by Nizamabad MLC Rajeswar Rao comprising noted pastors and Priests of Christian Associations including Gollapalli John, Jonathan Kalvala, AC Solmon, EDS Rathnam, Paul Anuradha, Nehru and Dhairyam called on the Chief Minister at Secretariat here on Monday. They prayed for the well-being of the government and wished the CM all the best in his endeavors for overall development of the state.

Interacting with them on the occasion, KCR stated that Telangana State will become a model to emulate and usher in a new era of secular strata and help protect the interests of Christian brethren.

The CM directed the officials concerned to take steps to ensure Christians get hassle free mechanism to construct Churches on par with Mosques and temples from rural level to towns.

A special GO will be issued to conduct parties for the Christian festivals on behalf of the Government as is being done in the case “Iftar Parties”.

The CM will also participate in the parties, he said. The CM also directed the officials to acquire land and give it to the Christians in rural areas for the purpose of graveyards.
