No Trust Move Against Kodela

YSR Congress party on Tuesday decided to move a no-confidence motion against Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao for allegedly showing partisan attitude against the Opposition party.

The party would serve a notice on the Assembly secretary on Wednesday, according to Deputy floor leader of the YSRC Jyothula Nehru.

He, however, clarified that the no-trust motion had nothing to do with the suspension of Roja for one year, but it was against the discriminatory attitude of the chair.

Nehru said the Speaker had always denied an opportunity to the Opposition to raise important issues of public concern like call money racket. On the other hand, he had allowed the ruling TDP to raise issues which were sub judice.

He reminded that the Speaker had allowed the ruling party members to interrupt several times when Opposition leader Y S Jaganmohan Reddy was speaking in the House.

"I have never seen such a Speaker in my political career. The party has to receive a reply within 14 days of giving the notice and we will wait for the reply," he added.
