No Takers For Revanth Claim, Axe Ready

Telangana Telugu Desam Party working president and Kodangal MLA A Revanth Reddy is all set to be expelled from the party not withstanding his claim that he was still with the TDP and blamed the media for the reports on his joining the Congress party.

Apparently, his own party leaders have refused to believe him. The Telangana TDP politburo members, without Revanth Reddy, reportedly passed a resolution seeking expulsion of the rebel leader from the party. They also asked party president N Chandrababu Naidu not to give any appointment to Revanth.

It appears the resolution was read out to Naidu over phone and he had accepted their demand. A formal letter is also being sent to Naidu for the sake of record.

Telangana TDP politburo member Revuri Prakash Reddy said there was no clarity on Revanth’s statement before his followers in Kodangal on Sunday and that he had not categorically said there was no question of joining the Congress.

“The explanation given by Revanth to the party is also not satisfactory. The Congress leaders themselves are saying that he had met them and that he was joining their party. If Revanth feels these statements are false, he should immediately file defamation cases against the Congress leaders,” Prakash Reddy said.

If the reports are true, Revanth might be expelled much before Naidu returns from the UK tour. Alternatively, Revanth himself would resign from the TDP by October 25, say sources.
