No Place For JAC In Telangana Celebrations

The Telangana Political Joint Action Committee (TJAC), which has played a crucial role in the achievement of separate statehood for Telangana, has virtually no place in the official celebrations of the first year of Telangana formation by the KCR government.

TJAC chairman M Kodandaram, who has been completely sidelined by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao after the latter came to power in June 2014, reportedly conveyed to the latter, saying the official celebratins be held under the aegis of TJAC. However, KCR refused to entertain the request. Then, Kodandaram put forth another request, saying that TJAC would independently conduct a meeting to celebrate the first year of Telangana and asked KCR to attend the function as Chief Guest.

But the Chief Minister brushed aside this request also. He reportedly refused to acknowledge TJAC, saying only TRS has the right to celebrate the function. A dejected Kodandaram has decided not to invite any TRS leaders to the celebrations.

It may be mentioned that Kodandaram did not get any official invite for the swearing-in ceremony of KCR and his cabinet on June 2, when the State was officially formed. That is the use-and-throw attitude of KCR!
