No Fireworks: Pawan Still Soft On Modi, Naidu!

Power star-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan has definitely disappointed the people of Andhra Pradesh by adopting not so aggressive approach towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu during his public meeting at Tirupati on Saturday.

Those who expected fireworks from Pawan Kalyan on Modi and Naidu were surprised when he went too soft on both the leaders.

When he said he would talk about the performance of the TDP government in the last two years and the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre on the special category status issue, audiences were hoping that he would go hammer and tongs at them.

On Naidu, Pawan said he had several questions to ask, but he would do it an appropriate time. On the other hand, he said he would understand the compulsions of Naidu in not bringing pressure on the Centre on special category status.

“The chief minister says he cannot adopt confrontationist attitude towards the Centre, because he has to get funds for the state. I can understand it. But how long can he adopt this stand?” he asked.

On Modi, he said he had a lot of respect towards the Prime Minister for upholding the nation’s pride in the foreign countries. He, however, made a soft attack on the Prime Minister saying all his schemes like Make in India, Skill India and Start-up India would not work in AP, unless special status is given.

Pawan Kalyan sought to give himself a clean chit saying he was not a stooge of Modi or Naidu.

“Somebody said my party is a Bhajana Sena. Some person said I am Rubber Singh not Gabbar Singh. But, I did not react. I don’t make statements or allegations just for the sake of publicity or power. I say what I feel,” he said.
