No Consensus On Gaddar For Warangal Bypoll

No Consensus On Gaddar For Warangal Bypoll

The initiative being taken by the Left parties to convince all the Opposition parties to field revolutionary singer Gaddar from Warangal Lok Sabha constituency in the ensuing by-elections seems to have no takers.

The nine Left parties led by CPI and CPI-M have decided to field Gaddar from Warangal and they conveyed the decision to him. However, Gaddar did not give any nod to the proposal immediately, saying he would think about it.

“What can I do in Delhi, when the battle field is in villages?” he asked them.

However, the revolutionary balladeer is learnt to have told them that there was no point in contesting the elections, if the other opposition parties are in fray. He asked the Left parties to see that he would emerge as consensus candidate.

But, that is unlikely because the BJP is not accepting the proposal of the Left parties, though its ally Telugu Desam Party has no objection for Gaddar. Both the TDP and BJP are meeting in Warangal on Thursday to decide on the candidate.

The Congress, too, is keen on fielding its own candidate. So, Gaddar has no option but to drop out.
